SMM’s President, Charlie MacLeod, recently spoke as part of a panel discussion at HIA’s annual conference: The Strength of the Long Island Manufacturing Sector: How You Can Get Engaged. The session focused on current and future initiatives to strengthen the LI manufacturing sector, through both perception and reality. Joining Charlie was Pat Malone, Stony Brook University Advanced Energy Training Institute; John Lombardo, Assoc. VP for Workforce and Economic Development at Suffolk County Community College; and Henry Kleitsch, President of H&H Technologies. The Session was moderated by Jamie Moore, Chairman of ADDAPT. According to SMM’s Charlie MacLeod, “Long Island enjoys not only a proud history of manufacturing but also a current inventory of great companies and products being made here. This highly attended panel presentation spoke to the challenges and the opportunities we have to get our brand to the masses.”
