The Clean Energy Business Incubator Program (CEBIP) at Stony Brook University has named SMM as its agency of record. The Program seeks to address the key needs of early stage energy based technology companies utilizing the extensive experience of its Advisory Board, business partners and Stony Brook University. SMM will be working with each of the Program companies to assist in branding and communications strategies.

“SMM’s experience in marketing communications for the energy industry, the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center at Stony Brook University and working with start-up companies will be of great value to our member organizations,” said David Hamilton, Executive Director of CEBIP. “They will help our members to bridge the gap between technological innovation and the marketplace.”

CEBIP operates directly under the direction of the Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI). LIHTI is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping new technology companies to grow by providing them with a variety of support resources and services. CEBIP is financially supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). NYSERDA strives to facilitate change through the widespread development and use of innovative technologies to improve the State’s energy, economic, and environmental wellbeing. CEBIP also works closely with the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, located in the Research and Development Park at Stony Brook University. The Center’s mission is innovative energy research, education and technology deployment with a focus on efficiency, conservation, renewable energy and nanotechnology applications for new and novel sources of energy.

“We are very happy to be working with CEBIP and its members,” said Charlie MacLeod, SMM’s President. “Their communications needs are very consistent with what we can provide solutions for.”

Initial work will begin in Fall 2015.
