SMM is creating branding materials and sponsoring the first annual hackathon at Stony Brook University’s Center of Excellence for Wireless and Information Technology. Titled “Hack@CEWIT”, this event will attract over 150 students from the Long Island region to help strengthen the technology and engineering workforce pipeline to industry. Competition categories will include IoT and Microservices along with embedded networks and data analytics. Students will work around the clock from February 17-19th while attending workshops as well. “As an advertising and marketing agency on Long Island, we are pleased to assist CEWIT in this fun and important event,” said Charlie MacLeod, agency CEO. “Promoting and advancing technology in our region is essential for us to retain the youth on Long Island. We have also begun preparing a branding workshop to be held during the weekend.” The event will also include an interactive speaker series, industry hacker guru programs, games, activities and of course, plenty of food!
