2013 Telly Awards Winner

SMM wins Four Tellys
SMM Advertising, based in Smithtown, N.Y., won a Silver Telly, the top award, for an online video ad for client Albrecht, a maker of precision machining equipment. The video was part of a comprehensive campaign to introduce a new precision chuck, or bit holder, which the agency dubbed “Überchuck” to play off the client’s German heritage and that nation’s reputation for precision machinery. The humorous two-minute video, which was used online and at trade shows, depicts a busy day at Santa’s North Pole workshop. During a production meeting, Santa notes the milling department is burning through several chucks per shift, at $100 each. He holds up an Albrecht Überchuck, explains how it saves time and money, and orders the foreman to install them on all milling equipment immediately. The award was in the “Internet/Online Commercial – Miscellaneous” category.
