SMM Advertising’s Creative Lead and Author Bill Blaney Shares Expertise with Latin American Businesses at Recent Arauco “Marketing in the Era of the Client” Conference
Bill Blaney, VP, Creative Director with SMM Advertising (www.smmadvertising.com, Smithtown, NY), a leading digital technology and marketing agency, recently served as the keynote speaker in a marketing and branding conference in Santiago, Chile for Latin American businesses seeking best in class strategies for B2B and B2C marketing in today’s world. The November 6, 2018conference titled, “Marketing in the Era of the Client,” was sponsored by Arauco, a Chilean wood pulp, engineered wood and forestry company, together with the branding agency, Procorp-Saffron (who produced the event) and communications consultancy, Tironi.
Blaney’s presentation, “Marketing and Industrial Branding – B2B to B2C,” focused on what is currently trending and succeeding in marketing and branding in the United States, Europe and around the globe.
According to Blaney, “Given that everything has changed so rapidly over the past 2-3 years, trends in B2B and B2C marketing require brand positions to evolve so as to keep pace with this quick moving marketplace.”
This is not Blaney’s first presentation before an international group. He has spoken before several associations, in addition to being featured in videos, podcasts, as well as business and trade publications. He is perhaps most widely known as the author of the book, B2B A to Z: Marketing Tools and Strategies That Generate Leads for Business-To-Business Companies, which was first published in late 2012 with its second edition now underway. The book, available on Amazon in paperback, hard copy and e-edition, is used worldwide by businesses, colleges and universities. Its content draws on Blaney’s impressive career as a brand expert and creative strategist whose Fortune 500 work includes extensive branding and marketing programs for Canon, JP Morgan Chase, Clear Channel and Tiffen, among many others.
The event included discussions on the brand experience by Gonzalo Castillo, President of Procorp-Saffron, thoughts on the reputation economy by Eugenio Tironi, and closing comments by Arauco’s Charles Kimber, Senior Vice-President of Commercial & Corporate Affairs. “It was a terrific honor to be requested for an event such as this, and to represent a U.S. point of view on our ever evolving disciplines of marketing and branding”, says Blaney. “Staying ahead of trends in our business is vital, especially as it relates to the B2B space, which has undergone a sea change in marketing tactics over the last few years.”
