Suffolk County hires SMM under 3-Year Contract
Suffolk County’s Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (FRES) has re-contracted with SMM Advertising to provide promotional advertising with the goal of attracting community volunteer rescue workers. Working through a Department of Homeland Security SAFER Grant, SMM is updating a previously successful campaign, which was also produced and managed by SMM, which was completed in 2013. The campaign will include a variety of tactics — including social media and integrated traditional and digital media — as well as collateral development and training programs. “Our work with FRES in the past provides a perfect background for enhancing the campaign. Changes to digital occur each week and we are able to respond to these changes and provide FRES with the optimal plan,” stated Jen Schmitt, Media Director at SMM. The creative strategy utilized will be similar to the past, with the addition of strategies and tactics aimed at attracting more women to the volunteer services. “Women want to volunteer more and more these days,” states Schmitt. The campaign will be breaking in August of 2016.
