SMM is proud to announce that Tricia Folliero, has been named by the Society of Human Resource Management, Long Island Chapter (SHRM-LI) the recipient of its 2018 Joseph C. Duffy Award for Professional Excellence. The merit-based award recognizes individuals who, as its namesake did, give tirelessly of themselves to benefit the Human Resources (HR) profession on Long Island. Folliero has been serving as SHRM-LI’s Marketing Chair since 2010.

In making the announcement at the recent SHRM-LI Conference, former President Annette Perry commented that, “Today’s award winner was and remains at the forefront of marketing our brand. She envisioned a social media landscape for SHRM-LI when I hardly knew what Facebook was all about, not to mention Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. As Marketing Chair for SHRM-LI, she was the creative force in the redesign of the Chapter’s Lighthouse logo which now brands our chapter.”

In addition to the SHRM-LI Joseph C. Duffy Award, Folliero was named among Long Island’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business in 2013.

Tricia is an active member of the community, currently serving as Workforce Development Board Member for the New York State Department of Labor, Suffolk County, and as Public Relations, Marketing and Fundraising Director of the Welcome Friends Soup Kitchen. Additionally, she is a former volunteer for Hope House Ministries.
