Creating awareness of a promising future
Stony Brook’s School of Professional Development (SPD) was given the opportunity to increase their enrollment through an aggressive digital, social and eblast campaign. Having had great success in the past with several SBU professional divisions, SMM was chosen to lead the charge in raising awareness and getting applicants.
Both of SPD’s divisions, the Schools of Higher Education Administration and Human Resource Management, had little in the way of marketing that would drive potential applicants to consider SBU as a destination school for these disciplines. SMM began the project by identifying traits of the desired students, and building materials that micro-targeted them.
Utilizing a dynamic visual campaign of ads, eblasts, and new destination website content for each of the two schools, SMM created a strategy within the NY Metro/Tristate area to give students reason to consider SPD as the place to advance their degree or build on their existing higher ed knowledge.
